Shopify reports and benchmarks

Updated

Original data on how growing Shopify brands actually run their stores. Every number comes from checking live stores directly, not from surveys or vendor case studies. The current dataset covers 606 US Shopify stores and 121,519 products, checked November 1, 2026, across supplements, beauty and skincare, food and beverage, pet, home and apparel.

How the data is collected

Every Shopify store publishes its products, collections, pages, basic settings and subscription plans so the storefront can work. I read that public data directly from each store, and for the tech stack report I load each homepage and record which outside services it calls. Nothing behind a login, no private data and no estimates. Each report explains its definitions and limits in a “How this was done” section.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Where does this data come from?

From the public storefront data every Shopify store publishes: products, collections, pages, store settings and subscription plans. I check each store directly, so the numbers reflect what shoppers actually see on the date of the check.

How often are the reports updated?

Each report shows the date it was checked. The Black Friday report gets a second check during Black Friday week, and the others are rerun every quarter.

Are any brands named?

No. Every report is aggregated by category. No individual store is named.
